The GG4 strain or Gorilla Glue #4, is known for its sticky resin and fuel-heavy aroma, and hard-hitting effects. It was discovered by accident by breeder Joesy Whales, who noticed a few unexpected seeds appearing in a Sour Dubb grow. Rather than throwing them away, he decided to grow them out and see what they produced. Several different phenotypes came from those seeds, but the fourth stood out for it’s potency, resin production, and aroma. That plant eventually became the legendary GG4 cut that spread throughout the cannabis industry. The strain’s genetics combine Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. Together they created a hybrid strain that delivered intense euphoria and deep body relaxation. The name “Gorilla Glue” came from growers who complained that trimming the flower left their scissors covered in resin, almost as if they had been dipped in glue. The buds were so sticky that the nickname immediately caught on.
